Robert Bardini: The Quest EP
Sentient Sound

Roberto Bardini's The Quest EP merges refined production skills with fecund musical imagination and breezy rhythmic sensibility. His sumptuous tech-house material is so sleek it blinds, plus the grooves are crisp and the android melodies robust. Punctuated by handclap splashes, the percolating title track exudes an aura of controlled euphoria, “My Word” entwines a Kraftwerk synth melody and a deep jazz-house pulse, and “Start Point” struts confidently while a vocoder motif adds electro flavour and keyboard syncopations add a jazzy edge. Tech-house doesn't come any more cool and composed than this.
